We’re excited to share an update on our journey to develop a robust Security Operations Centre (SOC) for the education and research sector!

Active Collaboration with Proof of Concept Partners:

As of April, we’ve officially partnered with five HE and FE institutions for a Proof of Concept (PoC) of our Security Centre. These institutions are actively participating in testing a range of critical security services, including:

  • Real-time Threat Detection
  • Protect, Detect, and Response (PDR) Service
  • 24/7/365 Cyber Security Incident Response (CSIRT)
  • Cloud-based Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) (CSTM)
  • JNRS (Janet Network Resolver Service) Onboarding
  • Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) for Servers
  • Service Management (ticketing system, dedicated Service Manager)
  • Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR)
  • Security Dashboards and Visualization Tools
  • CIS (Center for Internet Security) Assessment

Targeted Completion by July 2024:

We aim to complete this PoC phase by July 2024. This active participation allows our partners to test functionalities, establish service expectations, and offer valuable feedback. This collaboration ensures the final service perfectly aligns with the specific needs of the education and research sector.
